A guy, a girl: why are Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin absent from the TF1 prime?

Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin, the interpreters of the iconic Chouchou and Loulou in “A guy, a girl” will not be present in the anniversary program broadcast this evening from TF1. Find out the reasons for this absence.

After almost 20 years of waiting, the series A guy, a girl is about to make its big comeback on television. This Monday, August 28 from 9:10 p.m., TF1 will broadcast the first part of a special anniversary bonus, entitled A guy, a girl (in the plural) which will see a host of stars replay the flagship sketches of the cult series.

Broadcast between October 1999 and October 2003 (and rebroadcast several times since it was stopped), A guy, a girl followed the adventures of Chouchou and Loulou, a couple that has become emblematic today and was played by Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin.

And if 36 celebrities have agreed to slip into the shoes of Alex and Jean, the original performers have refused to play the game. To the great misfortune of the fans, Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin will not be present during the two anniversary evenings.

Why did Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin refuse to return?

Florence Boudaud, the producer of the bonus, revealed to our colleagues from TéléStar that the two actors had quite simply declined the proposal of a return for A guy, a girl (in the plural).

We contacted them three times“, she explained. “Alexandra kindly declined, explaining that her character had stuck with her for a long time. But she thought the idea was brilliant and promised to watch this version. Jean Dujardin’s agent answered us negatively“. She also clarified that the comedian “refused without giving an explanation”.

Inès Reg, Stéphane Bern, Virginie Ledoyen, Arié Elmaleh, JoeyStarr, Julie de Bona and the others will therefore have the heavy responsibility of making us forget the original interpreters of the sketches of the series, which have also been brought up to date.

“The idea is to pay homage to the series, therefore, to take only the original texts”, explained the producer in the magazine Télé 7 Jours. “Some were obsolete, we have adapted them, others have been watered down, because we can no longer say everything”.

See you on Monday August 28 and September 4 from 9:10 p.m. on TF1 to discover the two episodes of A guy, a girl (in the plural)
