On the set of Daily this Tuesday, June 14, Eddy Mitchell had tender words about Johnny Hallyday. The singer and the Taulier have maintained a special relationship for decades.
Their friendship will have lasted more than fifty years. In 2017, Eddy Mitchell confided that he had lost his “brother” after the announcement of the death of Johnny Hallyday. It must be said that the two artists had a special relationship since the 1960s. More than four years after the disappearance of Taulier, the singer is still moved to talk about their friendship. As during his visit to the Daily set this Tuesday, June 14, when he talked about Johnny, “more than a friend, a half-brother” for him. He also dedicated a song to her on his latest album, A little bit of love. “It’s his story. It’s also the relationship we had together”said Eddy Mitchell, very moved.
“Even more than that. He needed a lot and he got a little bit”, he continued, modestly, about the affection that bound them. Before Johnny Hallyday breathed his last in December 2017, Eddy Mitchell spent precious moments with him. It was at the hospital where he was that he saw the artist for the last time. “He was watching a movie. We weren’t talking about anything at all. We weren’t talking. He wanted to watch a movie, at the same time go to bed, sleep, resthe remembered on the set of Seven to eight. He didn’t have the strength, and I didn’t want to annoy him. So I wanted to leave him alone, to leave him alone. (…) He called me at any hour of the day, especially at night. We had a relationship that was really more than friendly, that was almost brotherly.”
Eddy Mitchell impressed by the courage of Johnny Hallyday
Before the death of Johnny Hallyday, Eddy Mitchell had the joy of sharing the scenes with his friend during the Vieilles Canailles tour. At the time very ill, the Taulier impressed his relatives as his fans. “He lived it in an extraordinary way, confided Eddy Mitchell on TF1. To the extent that he outdid himself because he was cared for day in and day out.” For this final tour, Johnny Hallyday was surrounded by“a host of medics”present at all times. “Jacques and I were there to help him on stage. (…) he was a tough man. He did chemo in the afternoon, in the evening he was on stage. So it’s incredible”, remembered his friend. A resilience that Eddy Mitchell will never be able to forget.
