Celebrities and top politicians collect record sums in gala
The celebrities collected 27,618,170 euros at this year’s “A Heart for Children” gala on ZDF.

Scholz, von der Leyen, Baerbock, Habeck: top politicians and celebrities collected a record amount at the “A Heart for Children” gala.
Record at the big donation gala “A Heart for Children” on ZDF: At the end of Saturday evening, the prominent donation collectors present presented the record sum of 27,618,170 euros, which was raised for a good cause. A total of 91 celebrities were on the phone for donations this year. Including Sarah Connor (41), Verona Pooth (53), Alexander Zverev (24) with girlfriend Sophia Thomalla (32), Susan Sideropoulos (41), Jörg Wontorra (73) with daughter Laura (32), Uschi Glas (77), Jan Josef Liefers (57), Roland Kaiser (69), Wladimir Klitschko (45) and many more. The evening was hosted by Johannes B. Kerner (56).
Soon-Chancellor Olaf Scholz calls again for vaccinations
Top politicians from different parties also once again joined the fundraisers. Including the President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen (63, CDU), the Federal Chancellor-designate Olaf Scholz (63, SPD), his Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck (52) and the upcoming Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (40, both Bündnis90 / Die Grünen ). Scholz used his acceptance speech again to appeal to all of his fellow citizens to make use of the corona vaccination: “We live in a country that has made a great invention. One of the corona vaccines was discovered in Germany.” His wish is that everyone get vaccinated. That also protects the very young children who cannot be vaccinated, said Scholz.
“A heart for children”: annually since 2001 on ZDF
“A heart for children” is an aid organization that was launched in 1978 by the “Bild” newspaper and the Axel Springer publishing house. The aim is to support children and families in need in Germany and around the world. Since 2001 there has been an annual donation gala on ZDF, at which new record sums can almost always be achieved. The special thing about it: Each citizen who wants to donate is connected by telephone to a celebrity who receives his donation in person.
