A “higher-end” Nothing Phone (2) is coming in 2023, here’s what we know so far

The Nothing Phone (1) was launched last year and here is announced a more upscale Phone (2) for this year.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei, who founded the OnePlus brand, told Inverse that the Phone (2) would be “more premium” than the £469 Phone (1).

“We are developing a smartphone that is more premium than the Phone(1) and software will be a big focus area for us,” Pei said.

“Here we come! Stay tuned”

“Here we come! Stay tuned,” the company on Twitter.

The London-based company’s Phone (1) has received positive reviews and is considered a very decent phone for its price. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus, a 50MP dual camera module, an OLED screen, 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The Glyph interface consists of 900 LEDs under a clear glass back that light up in patterns to indicate notifications, calls, battery level and charging status. On the OS side, Nothing is currently testing Nothing OS 1.5, which is based on Android 13.

Pei didn’t elaborate on the Phone(2)’s features, specs, or price, but said it would be a “more premium model” than the Phone(1). .

One of the big changes will be that the Phone (2) will work more in line with US carriers. “When you make a smartphone for the United States, you have to work with the carriers on certifying and adapting some of their features into your OS,” Pei said. “We didn’t have the resources for that before and now we have them.”
