One of Prime Video’s most popular series finally gives us some news and it’s excellent! You won’t have to wait as long as expected.
Prime Video may have difficulty having an intuitive platform, but over the years, it no longer has anything to envy of the giant Netflix, still the market leader.
The big series are coming one after the other at Amazon, as evidenced by the upcoming arrival of Fallout which we are impatiently awaiting, but in addition to its own programs, the platform has been able to recover the rights to extremely popular series, like this show from DC Comics who will return very soon.

He only seeks peace, loves the USA more than his own father, his best friend is a domestic eagle and he has more muscle than gray matter, who is he? Yes, we are talking here about Peacemaker, the superhero/villain with extremely expeditious methods played by a hilarious John Cena. A colorful character who first appeared in the The Suicide Squad by James Gunn alongside Margot Robbie and Idris Elba. Since then, the eagle has been able to fly with its own wings and Cena returned in a series as funny as it is trashy which was a hit on Prime Video, its broadcast platform.
We knew that a season 2 was going to see the light of day, it was confirmed, but until now, James Gunn had put it on hold until he managed to put his new DCU in order and its current projects. But now, things have changed and for the better!
Double good news for the DCU
Actress Jennifer Holland, who plays Emilia in the series, spilled the beans. Season 2 of Peacemaker begins filming this summer! Information that we don’t need to take with a grain of salt since in addition to being one of the headliners of the series, she is also in a relationship with Gunn. Suffice it to say that the information is reliable.
This is double good news since it means that Peacemaker will certainly return by next year, and that we will be able to enjoy it immediately on Prime Video (if the deal still holds), or a little after its broadcast on Max as with the first season. But it’s also good news because it means that James Gunn is slowly starting to see more clearly in his plans. His next big piece, Superman (formerly Superman Legacy), is well and truly on track and it will also launch the new DCU by 2025. Tired of superheroes or not, we must admit that we are still curious to see what it will be like.

As for the series, we do not yet know what this season 2 of Peacemaker will tell, nor even how it will integrate into the new DCU, which is clearly part of the previous one (witness the cameos of the season 1 by the way). We’ll see, but the wacky and trashy universe of the series has room for finding excuses, or not for that matter.
