Handpicked players from the Xbox ecosystem now have access to a major new feature on one of Microsoft’s key services.
For several months, Xbox has continued its transformation and its opening to reach a wider audience that is currently completely absent. And one of the first changes in the evolution of the manufacturer’s strategy was to release certain exclusives on PS5, PS4 and / or Nintendo Switch. Pentiment is available on all three consoles, while Hi-Fi Rush is only playable on PlayStation 5. In April, two other games are still due to arrive: Sea of Thieves and Grounded. Xbox Game Pass is one of the services that is capturing all the attention of Microsoft, which aims to make it essential in the years to come. For the moment, the subscription has not yet reached a sufficient number of subscribers to fulfill this objective, but the Redmond firm continues to feed it to convince. One of the other goals of Xbox, which has been recalled many times, is to be able to be present on all possible screens. And for this, cloud gaming is a major ally. Thanks to this technology, no need for a console or PC to play, a smartphone and a robust 4G connection do the trick.
The xCloud is nevertheless available on consoles and PC, and on this platform, there is also a new feature expected and requested by PC users. Insider members can plug in a keyboard mouse and put it through its paces on a few playable xCloud games. “Xbox Insiders can try keyboard mouse compatibility while playing cloud gaming. This is via supported browsers, Edge and Chrome, and the Xbox PC app on Windows » announces Xbox Wire. The prerequisite is to be part of the “PC Gaming Preview” program which gives access to updates before anyone else.

Given that this is a relatively private testing phase, the selection of compatible games is still quite limited. But that doesn’t stop us from having very big titles like Fortnite, Halo Infinite or Sea of Thieves, as well as the very good Atomic Heart.
