Not long ago, the creator of the franchise, Kazunori Yamauchi, made our mouths water again. How ? With a tease for the next patch of Gran Turismo 7. As usual, our man published a message containing a short video with three cars in the shadows. Connoisseurs managed to recognize them, but that didn’t really spoil the surprise. For good reason, this update does not just add new vehicles. If we know, it’s because she has just been deployed. On your wheels!
A huge update for Gran Turismo 7, what’s changing?
We start first with the new free cars that arrive with this update. Let’s start with the Audi R8 Coupe V10 plus ’16. For the record, this is the second generation of Audi’s road-going sports car. The “R8” may mean something to you, and that’s normal. Indeed, it has the same name as the R8 which won at Le Mans. The first model of this car was generally a great success. Given that we are facing a version improved on certain points, it is a pleasure to finally be able to get our hands on it in Gran Turismo 7.
We continue with the Lamborghini Urus ’18, introduced in 2018. This car was a sort of aggressive response to the explosion of SUVs. And there, in terms of speed, it’s serious. To give you an idea of how fast it is, at launch it was judged to be the fastest SUV… in the world. We are still talking about an acceleration that can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. 12.8 seconds to go from 0 to 200 km/h. It’s up to you to try it now in Gran Turismo 7.
Let’s finish with the ’99 Toyota GT-One (TS020). Yes, the same one that took second position during the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1999. A feat which remains to be saluted, even if it is not first place. So it’s quite a piece that makes its debut in the latest addition to the franchise. At the same time, it was designed by Andre De Cortanze. In the industry, he is considered a big name in racing car design. In short, all that to say that this update delights us with these three additions.
Other surprises in this big patch
As we said above, these three new vehicles alone do not represent the entire appeal of the update. For example, a new menu has been added to the Extra Menus section. Additionally, there are now new events in the World Circuits, such as the High Speed Ring Reverse for the Schwarzwald League. This is just an example, of course, but it should be enough to make you understand that the content of Gran Turismo 7 is well enriched.
