a huge surprise in the pipeline, but there’s a catch

Recently, we were told that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was coming. And according to new information, he is far from being the only one.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise still has great stories to tell us. Between Mirage, the latest opus, Red which will take place in feudal Japan, Hexe which will take place during the witch hunt or Invictus, the future multiplayer experience, we have plenty to do. But will Ubisoft only offer us new adventures? Won’t it bring up to date some opuses adored by fans? We know about the Black Flag rumor, but recently we were informed that another remake was potentially in the works.

Assassin’s Creed will perhaps get two remakes

It is once again Insider Gaming, and more precisely Tom Henderson, who brings us this extremely important information. The famous publisher is reportedly developing a remake, but it wouldn’t be the Black Flag one we’ve already heard about. But then, who is it about? Well… they don’t tell us anything. Yes, the name is not mentioned, which stops us a little in our tracks. The only thing we can say is that part of the community would like to have a new version of older Assassin’s Creeds, like the very first.

The only problem is that this second remake should technically arrive “before the end of the decade”. We have time to see it coming. This is a rather wide range, but not illogical. Indeed, Ubisoft has a fairly substantial roadmap for Assassin’s Creed. If we just take the opus titled Hexe, set in 16th century Europe, rumor has it that it will arrive in 2026. And there are others that are supposed to come after that. At least that’s what we think, but the opposite would be surprising. You will have understood, the franchise has clearly not said its last word.

As for the redesign of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, its production would have started in September 2023. We could see that the CVLinkedIn of a lead cinematic designer from the studio’s branch in Singapore mentioned an “unannounced game”. Development would therefore have started last year, and for some, it must be him. According to sources from Kotaku and Insider Gaming, the work on Skull & Bones would serve precisely to modernize the naval battles and navigation on the waters for this game. We will still take this with a grain of salt, but the clues are starting to accumulate .
