The announcement everyone has been waiting for for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been made, but there’s just one small hitch, and it concerns console players. You will have to be patient.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was a monumental slap in the face for most players, that’s a fact. He even won the game during the Game Awards 2023 evening, leaving with the title of GOTY. Generally speaking, we agree that Larian Studios offered a breathtaking adventure, with a rich narrative and colorful characters. But there was just one element missing to complete the picture. And that’s it, it won’t be long before we have it in our hands, it’s confirmed. Well, it depends. If you only play on one console, it’s a different story.
Physical editions of Baldur’s Gate 3 are on the way…on PC
We are of course talking about the physical version of Baldur’s Gate 3. It is possible to obtain it via the Deluxe Edition which was revealed in November 2023. For collectors, this was one of the best news of the year. Even more so when you see the objects included inside. If we’re talking to you about it today, it’s because the studio has just announced that the PC versions of this edition have been officially shipped. You will therefore normally not take long to receive one, if you have pre-ordered. But what about the PS5 and Xbox Series?
Larian informs us that the console versions will be sent between April and May 2024, without further details. A hard blow for some fans who were impatiently awaiting this Deluxe edition. We saw the blow coming, in particular for the Xbox version which, remember, will include 4 discs. As a result, his arrival had to be postponed. Why the PS5 underwent the treatment, we don’t know, but one thing is certain: it will be disappointed.
We wanted to get the console versions into players’ hands sooner, however, production problems resulted in shipping dates being pushed back slightly.

For the record, the Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 is sold exclusively on the dedicated Larian store for €79.99 (€99.99 if you include shipping costs). That’s a lot of money that not everyone can afford. If in doubt, know that you can choose to wait before making a decision.
