a huge surprise update, fans will love it

Against all expectations, Skyrim, one of Bethesda’s biggest successes, received a huge update that will undoubtedly interest you. There are indeed some nice additions.

Skyrim is a bit of Bethesda’s golden goose, and it’s not difficult to know why. For many, the RPG was one of the most memorable of the last decade, going so far as to say that it is one of the greatest of the genre. It came out about twelve years ago, and yet the studio never really let go of it. In truth, it’s still being updated, and the latest patch is pretty massive. This might be a good argument to come back to the game.

A huge patch for Skyrim

Please note, this update is only available for owners of the Special Edition and Anniversary Edition of Skyrim. On the menu, we notably have official compatibility with Valve’s Steam Deck, which will surely be good news for a lot of people. But it doesn’t stop there, since we also note compatibility with wide screens on PC (16:9, 16:10, 21:9 and 32:9). If that’s not enough to convince you, Bethesda has another surprise in store.

It concerns community creations, such as mods for example. It will now be possible to access it via a special menu called Creations. It is even possible to register for a program set up by the company, the Bethesda Game Studios Verified Creator. Concretely, this allows you to set a price for your creations, and for each sale, the creator receives royalties. This is quite a surprising method, and we now have to wait and see what it will do in the long term.

Creations provides an enhanced platform to not only access community-created content for Skyrim Special Edition, but also to allow developers and enthusiasts to showcase their creations to a wider audience. Players can browse and download content directly from the in-game Creations menu.

New Update Patch Notes

In addition to these big changes, the update brings a lot of fixes. Some players noted that it was a bit strange to bring them this late into Skyrim, but as they say, better late than never.
