a keyboard as cute as it is efficient

Not long ago Logitech unveiled its collection of Aurora peripherals which aims to be as inclusive as possible. It is now time for the test to verify all this.

A few weeks ago we told you about the Aurora collection from Logitech, which aimed to be inclusive, with a neat and particularly refined design. We therefore had the G715 keyboard of the range in our hands. As expected, this one sports a neat and very efficient look. All dressed in white, we can say that it hits the mark and that it has enough to attract attention even for those who have no particular affect with the world of gaming. Its design works especially since it sports a cloud-shaped wrist rest, it is clearly flawless on this side and there is nothing to complain about. The finish of the keyboard is made of a hard plastic and the keys have a slight grain for better grip. The keyboard manages to combine the cute side of the design with real comfort of use. Of course, what would a gaming keyboard be without the use of RGB? For this reason you will be able to find well-integrated RGB lighting, especially since the white color allows the lighting to pass particularly well.

An aesthetic and largely customizable keyboard

To make everything even more visually attractive, Logitech has designed a removable top plate on the keys that can be replaced with a plate of another color. For example, there is an apple green version as well as a pink one. It is also possible to buy a set of keys to match everything color level. Obviously the addition begins to be salty after that because the simple removable plate is priced at 19.99 euros on the official site.

On the back we can find three large non-slip pads as well as three others of smaller sizes. Logitech has also added an adjustable foot in two positions, namely 4° and 8°, for better typing comfort. Finally, a hatch to store the dongle is provided.

Functional despite its compact size

Compact, it offers 3 types of connection: namely Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz Lightspeed via supplied dongle, and wired USB. There is therefore something for all tastes and all uses. Note that it only exists in a TKL (Tenkeyless) version and we regret that it is not possible to remap keys other than the classic F1 to F12. However, we will nevertheless welcome the presence of multimedia keys such as the volume wheel (rather rare for this type of keyboard), as well as 7 keys in the upper part. We find in particular the keyboard connection mode (Bluetooth or Lightspeed), the Game Mode which prevents the activation of certain keys or the light intensity of the RGB.

Lighting obviously has an impact on battery life. Logitech announces 25 hours of battery life with a full charge and maximum RGB against 120 hours with low brightness. Quite surprisingly, it even climbs to 600 hours without backlighting. If you doubted the consumption of RGB…

In terms of performance, two switch options are offered: linear and tactile. This is the touchscreen version we got, all in GX Brown. Namely a precise switch but which requires a higher maximum force than on a RED switch. The typing is thus quite noisy, in fact the G715 Aurora can even be classified in the category of noisy keyboards. It does not detract from its comfort of typing and very pleasant use both in game and in office. Although we strongly advise against using this keyboard at work.
