The democratization of payments in crypto-currencies is long overdue in France, and it is the stores of the Parisian complex that are laying the first stone. To make the initiative fun, stores and restaurants are offering a QR Code hunt from June 8, with €500 at stake, thanks to the LYZI application, which is getting a nice publicity stunt for its launch.
The democratization of crypto payments, a first in France
Despite the crypto-sphere going through a moribund period, French companies persist and sign: the future will be made up of bitcoin, ether and other crypto-asset exchanges. Beaugrenelle is a department store established since 2013 in the (too) quiet fifteenth arrondissement of Paris. There are 120 shops and restaurants, as well as a cinema.
So far, nothing more classic, except the initiative that will allow buyers to pay in crypto. Be careful, it is not a question of arriving head on with your own wallet to do your shopping at Ladurée, but of downloading a French application called LYZI, which works on the Tezos blockchain.
At present, the startup accepts around twenty crypto-currencies (BTC, ETH, Ripple, Litecoin, etc.) and proposes to transform them into a gift card, which the stores in the mall will be happy to cash. This is the first project of its kind in France, a country where crypto payments are still far from being in consumer habits.

Because the application is in the launch phase, we have still heard very little about LYZI, a French startup that wants to democratize practices such as cashback with 5% and 10% on your in-store purchases. According to its advertising, the company mainly targets bargain-hungry consumers who want to indulge themselves.
