“A little helpless”, these last exchanges revealed by their second daughter

The relatives of Véronique and Laurent, who disappeared in Madeira two weeks ago, are waiting. Their daughter Pauline revealed the last conversation she had with her mother.

Disappearance of a French couple in Madeira

Véronique and Laurent only took two bottles of water and a telephone with them. It was Johanna who raised the alarm. A judicial investigation into a disturbing disappearance was opened on March 20. Major research efforts were launched in Portugal, on land and at sea, the next day. Around thirty rescuers were mobilized, a boat and drones. After an interruption due to weather, the search resumed on Thursday in a wider area.

The hypotheses put forward would be those a bad fall or a voluntary disappearance. But the young woman regrets a lack of support from the Portuguese authorities.
