a long-awaited big surprise is coming


More than 10 years after its release, Skyrim continues to be a hit, thanks in particular to community mods. And precisely, a nice surprise awaits fans of the RPG.

Released in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is now over ten years old. Despite its advanced age, the RPG from Bethesda continues to attract a community of players who are still as invested. This feat, we owe it above all to the mods created by the fans. Some of them are nothing less than impressive and offer adventures as exhilarating as those in the base game. This is what the Apotheosis mod promises us.

Skyrim still has great years ahead of it

Apotheosis is an extension that will lead the player to return to the lands of Oblivion and a place called Dreamsleeve. It will obviously offer an open world, potentially darker than that of Skyrim. As for its size, it is compared to a big DLC, but we don’t have more information about it, but the project does not lack ambitions. Here is what we are told about the story:

You begin your adventure in the Dreamsleeve, a fallen and twisted world, stranded at the end of time. Hear the call of Kyne, Goddess of Storms and Widow of Shor. Take your weapons and overcome the embrace of death. Or is it your destiny to become a memory, erased and scattered in the winds of time?

In truth, this mod was already announced many years ago. At the time, Apotheosis was supposed to be released on the standard version of Skyrim. But the team behind this project recently unveiled a video on the mod which came to provide some details in addition to new images that will delight fans. First, we finally have a set release window of 2025 on PC. Patience will therefore be required and we should not hope to see it land on consoles because of special restrictions. Finally, Apotheosis is no longer in development for the base version of the game. Only owners of the 2016 Skyrim: Special Edition can expect to enjoy it.

The Special Edition has a better engine, but it’s also more stable, with better lighting and more advanced shader and performance techniques, allowing us to create denser and more visually striking environments.
