a long-awaited duo and a great first for the franchise

The presentation of FIFA 23 has taken place and here is all the information to remember about the game (release date, crossplay, commentators…). A new edition that does not lack novelties.

The first FIFA 23 trailer has dropped! And with it, a deluge of information that makes it possible to see if the rumors were real or false. There are going to be a lot more changes than usual.

A first in FIFA 23

This is a great first for the Electronic Arts franchise, women’s football will be represented and not just a little. Two championships, the Arkema Division 1 and the Barclays Women’s Super League, will be available upon release on September 30, 2022. Ideal to reinforce an already substantial content with more than 19,000 players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30+ leagues.

Later, a free update will also offer the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Same treatment for men with the introduction, without any hidden additional cost, of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

A crossplay game

Crossplay will be there at launch for matches between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia players or between PS4 and Xbox One users. But not in all game modes.

The FUT Transfer Market

With valid crossplay for FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), different “Transfer Markets” have been created. On the one hand, the one for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Stadia, and on the other, the one for the PC and the Nintendo Switch.

The HyperMotion 2

FIFA 23 will be based on HyperMotion 2. A technology to capture and transcribe as faithfully as possible the animations of the players on the screen.

We pushed the limits of realism in FIFA 23 through HyperMotion2using state-of-the-art technology to capture professional women’s and men’s teams in high-intensity encounters, resulting in millions of data points in new real-time animations. The result is the most natural and realistic movement ever seen in a football game and combined with the integration of men’s and women’s World Cups, women’s club teams and cross-play features, this will immerse players and football fans of the world for years to come.

Nick Wlodyka, SVP & GM, EA Sports FC.

After commenting on FIFA 22 alone, following the dismissal of Pierre Ménès, Hervé Mathoux will not be back for this new edition. Instead, EA convinced Omar da Fonseca and Benjamin Da Silva, beIN Sports’ duo beloved by soccer fans, to take over.

As die-hard football fans, the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise is a staple in our daily lives. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with this hugely popular game and be able to bring our own style to the commentary in this new edition. It’s a real honor to be able to punctuate the players’ matches and announce the most spectacular moments of their game..

FIFA 23 will be available on September 30, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia, PC and Nintendo Switch. Or 27 with the Ultimate Edition of the game.
