No need to take out your smart phone to know who is in front of your door.

Integration between Google products is often very neat, but owners of Nest connected objects have had to wait a long time for a feature that is nevertheless very practical.

Know who is in front of the door without leaving your sofa

It was indeed impossible for them to consult the video feeds of their surveillance cameras or their Nest door stations directly from their televisions. Only the Google Home application could thus retrieve the live images. The error is now fixed for owners of Chromecast with Google TV.

Google’s TV box has just been updated and provides access to Nest cameras as well as connected doorbells directly from your TV.

Video access can also be done using Google Assistant. Just press the dedicated button on the remote control that accompanies the Chromecast or any equipped device and ask to see the images from your device on the TV.

It is fortunate that Google is finally adding this functionality when it has already been allowing images from its cameras to be seen on its connected screens for a long time, but also on devices from third-party manufacturers such as the Echo Show or Amazon’s Fire TV.
