They had their ups and downs! Married for more than fifteen years with Cédric Bruguière, Marlène Schiappa is a fulfilled woman. If the couple is very much in love, they have however experienced a separation. Guest on the show Chez Jordan, for Tele-Leisurethe Minister Delegate for Citizenship revealed: “With my husband, we separated and then got back together… It was a long break. At times, no matter how much you want to keep your family together, you evolve differently and you understand each other more. It was a time when we no longer understood each other. So we parted…“A few years later, they finally put the pieces back together.”We rekindled a relationship. We made a lot of effort to understand each other, and now we understand each other very well. But because we worked on that! (…) Sometimes it’s not natural, there are other parameters that come into play“, she revealed.
In all transparency, Marlène Schiappa admitted to being romantic. She indeed confided:I’m not the type of person to say, ‘Put your things away, where are you?’ But I need tenderness, I have a little beating heart! I like to discuss, exchange, have projects, make lists, book trips… I’m rather romantic!“Asked about the gift she had had for Valentine’s Day, the politician revealed:”We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Quite simply because each year, we celebrate our wedding anniversary which is shortly after.“
Marlène Schiappa: “We argued all the time”
In October 2021, it’s in the podcast The Parents Show for Apple that the Minister Delegate for Citizenship had mentioned the tensions within her couple. “I started to get involved politically, and it was quite complicated. My husband worked in Essonne, we lived in another region, so he took the train every day to go to work. We saw each other very little, he left very early, he came home very late, and on weekends when he was there, I was in my political commitments. And above, we had the children“, she revealed, before adding: “We had very little time to see each other, our balance as a couple was a little unbalanced. And so we argued all the time (…) We ended up separating.“
