An average lifespan for A Plague Tale Requiem
Will this new part extend more than A Plague Tale Innocence? It could well be. In an interview for PLAY Magazine, Kevin Pinson, lead level designer of Asobo Studio, estimates the lifespan of A Plague Tale Requiem between 16 and 18 hours (via PSU). According to him, no filler like other single-player games to artificially prolong the experience, but a duration in keeping with the story the team wanted to tell.
It’s all about pacing, there’s no filler, and we didn’t try to stretch the game out because we had to.. Our publisher Focus Interactive encourages us to choose the length we want for the game and the story we want to tell. We are not targeting a specific number of hours. It’s not something we take into account when designing the game. Given that we are a small team of 70 people, we have to make drastic choices.
How does this sequel compare to the previous installment? Tracing the story, A Plague Tale Innocence could be finished around 10 a.m., and 4 p.m. in total to complete everything. If Kevin Pinson is talking about 4 to 6 p.m. just for the script, then the lifespan would be much longer.
