A 26-year-old man died on Friday in Epinay-sous-Sénart in Essonne. He was stabbed in the throat after a “deal that allegedly went wrong”. The prosecution of Evry opened an investigation for “intentional homicide” which was entrusted, in the process, to the judicial police of Essonne.

It is a drama that took place in Essonne this Friday. A 26-year-old man was stabbed in the throat in Epinay-sous-Sénart in the southern Paris suburbs. AFP says the victim did not survive his injuries. According to a source close to the case, the case is “not linked to a brawl”, as is often the case in this department particularly affected by clashes between rival gangs, but to “a transaction that would have gone wrong” between two individuals.

An investigation has been opened for “intentional homicide”, said the Evry prosecution, contacted by AFP. It was immediately forwarded to the Essonne judicial police.

The fleeing attacker

The victim was “a little known to the police, but for old offenses,” said the source close to the investigation. The alleged attacker was on the run Friday afternoon.

A few days ago, another news item had already shaken up the news in Essonne. A 19-year-old young man had accused the police of having molested him during police custody in Juvisy-sur-Orge. The examinations carried out resulted in four days of total incapacity for work for the alleged victim.
