A man was taken into police custody and another remains wanted in Lyon as part of an investigation into the sexual assault of young Mila, known for having published several controversial videos on Islam in 2020. On Saturday, the young woman had posted a video on social networks in which she announced her intention to file a complaint after having suffered, the same day, an attack during a walk on the quays of the Rhône, in Lyon.

She then relayed a video extract showing a man insulting her and spitting in her direction, before approaching in the company of another individual. According to her, one of the two men then rubbed his cock against her. Mila then explained that she was rescued by a “passing jogger”. On Tuesday, the Lyon prosecutor’s office announced that it had “opened, in the context of the aggression denounced by the young Mila, a judicial investigation of the counts of sexual assault, theft in a meeting and sexist insults”.

A man has already been placed in police custody on Sunday and his “placement in pre-trial detention will be required” after his deferment on Tuesday, added the prosecution, specifying that the investigations were continuing to identify and arrest a second defendant. . At the time of her attack on Saturday, Mila was not escorted, while she has been under police protection since the publication of a video criticizing the Koran and Islam in January 2020. Then aged 16 and a half, she had been forced to drop out of high school. In November of the same year, she had been the victim of a digital “raid” after having published on the social network TikTok a new video in which she attacked her critics and Islam sharply. In July 2021, 11 young people were given suspended prison sentences of four to six months for participating in his cyberbullying. Nothing indicates for the moment that the facts of Saturday can be linked to Mila’s remarks on Islam.
