A 25-year-old man, suspected of having killed his mother with numerous stab wounds and injured his sister in Lanester (Morbihan), was hospitalized following injuries, the Lorient prosecutor’s office announced on Friday. The facts occurred around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when the 23-year-old sister of the respondent called the police to report that her brother had stabbed their mother with a knife and that she herself was injured, according to the prosecution, confirming information from the local press.
“Once there, the police officers made contact with the sister of the respondent, seriously injured in the head by a stab and entrenched in her room, which was subsequently the subject of hospitalization, which is still ongoing today. “, said the deputy prosecutor of Lorient, Bastien Diacono. The police also discovered “the lifeless body of a second victim, aged 47 and mother of the respondent, on the landing of the third floor of the building”, according to the press release.
At least 27 wounds on the mother’s body
At least 27 wounds were found on the body of the deceased victim, mainly on the face and back. Two knives with broken blades and a bloody umbrella were also found.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested “without difficulty” and placed in police custody before being taken to the hospital center because of a bleeding wound in the hand requiring surgery. The police custody was lifted on Friday morning, “due to a mental state incompatible with such a measure”. No history appeared in the criminal record of the suspect, specifies the prosecutor.
