It is, of course, much too late to request the suspension of the single flat-rate levy (PFU) for the year 2022, but there is still time for 2023. Taxpayers who receive capital income, whether with a savings account bank savings or a securities account, for example, are automatically subject in part or in full to the PFU when winnings are paid out.

Asking for its suspension allows you to continue to capitalize the profits before tax settlement, which will end up arriving anyway with the 2024 notice. This is a trick particularly recommended for people who prefer to be subject to the progressive tax scale on income, since it is during the annual declaration that this mode of taxation must be chosen; the suspension avoids advancing too much money to the Treasury. To request it, all you have to do is notify your bank (or other intermediary) in writing. Mail should arrive by November 30.
