Colombian Movistar climber Ivan Sosa has been admitted to hospital after a truck driver hit him with the butt of a revolver during an altercation on the road he was training on.
Sosa, 25, was training near his hometown, Fusagasugá (center), 70 km from Bogota, when a truck driver “came down [de son véhicule] and hit him with the butt” of a revolver, the source, who requested anonymity, told AFP, without specifying the reasons for the altercation.
“Chin Injuries”
In a brief message on Twitter, Movistar confirmed that Sosa “has been treated for chin injuries at a medical center in Fusagasugá”. The truck driver was arrested by the police.
Winner of the 2018 Tour de Burgos, Sosa joined Movistar last year after leaving British team Ineos.
