While a supposed leak panicked the Web this weekend, Santa Monica Studio has just released a new video of God of War Ragnarok. An essential for those who have not played the previous game or who no longer have the events of the first adventures of Kratos and his son in mind.

It’s time for revisions. When God of War was released in 2018 on PS4, players were able to discover new facets of Kratos and explore the Nordic kingdoms and their history. To prepare players for the release of God of War Ragnarök on November 9, 2022, PlayStation has just unveiled a video in the form of a real animated tale narrating the events of God of War (2018). Perfect for getting up to speed before the release of the title impatiently awaited by everyone, even the boss of Xbox.
Without going into details for those who would like to (re)discover this story by playing God of War, the game opens with the funeral of Faye, mother of Atreus and wife of Kratos. To satisfy his last wish, the father and his son set off on a journey to scatter his ashes from the highest peak of the nine kingdoms. They will be confronted with the hostile nature of the Far North, its beasts, its monsters, and its anything but benevolent gods. They will make unexpected encounters on their way, including the Huldres brothers, Brok and Sindri, famous blacksmith dwarves. Their quest culminates in the triggering of a prophecy foretelling the full uprising of the nine kingdoms and a battle that will result in the death of gods. Thus will begin the story of God of War Ragnarok.
