This young mother suffered from abdominal pain for years. His illness caused him to miss many important events, including his daughter’s first Christmas.
Jade Porter, 32, from Breaston in Derbyshire, has suffered from an early age. Despite his recurrent symptoms, no doctor could diagnose the origin of the disease of Jade. Because of the diagnosis and the operation, Jade and her husband Tom had to call off their engagement. A turnaround, two years after his diagnosis and his operation, Jade’s father receives the diagnosis of his cancer. To give him a chance to lead her daughter down the aisle, Jade and her husband Tom have decided to bring forward their wedding date. Doctors gave Jade’s father three to six months to live. A year later, in 2018, the couple gave birth to a baby girl, Nellie Bea. The girl is born with a weak immune system.
Two months after the birth of her daughter, Jade’s father dies. Barely two days after the death of her father, Jade made one of her worst flare-ups because of the weeks spent at the bedside of his sick father. Because of this illness, Jade misses her daughter’s first Christmas. “Christmas has always been special to me. The idea of not being at home with my family, and not being able to celebrate and spoil my daughter at Christmas, destroyed me“, she said.
