Good news for Death Note fans? Netflix has ordered a new live-action series that will be driven by the creators of Stranger Things.

A Death Note series from the creators of Stranger Things

While part 2 of Stranger Things season 4 is breaking records on the platform, the creators of Netflix’s biggest hit are already working on their next projects. Matt and Ross Duffer have since created their studio Upside Down Pictures and signed new partnerships with the streaming giant. One of them concerns one of the most popular manga of all time.

A Netflix series of Death Note is indeed in the works and it will be helmed by the creators of Stranger Things and Hilary Leavitt, who heads up the company. The latter has worked on the development of other successful series such as Orphan Black, Ozark or Shining Girls. Nothing to do with the 2017 film from the same platform which completely failed, it will be a whole new adaptation and a whole new look, announces Deadline, which revealed the info. No other details are known at this time. In the meantime, the duo will prepare season 5 of Stranger Things very soon.
