a new controller has leaked, it could be a disaster!

A new PS5 controller seems to have leaked on the Web, and it brings a significant improvement. It’s time for a little comparison.

Something new seems to be brewing on the PS5 side. Already, last year, we were able to welcome the Slim, and now, it is the Pro version which is at the heart of all the rumors. But isn’t Sony concocting something else in the shadows? This is what a leak seems to tell us, and it concerns a somewhat unusual new controller. Is it so different from the basic one? Let’s see it now.

A new PS5 controller leaked

This controller was spotted on the Best Buy Canada site, and clearly, it’s an improved version of the DualSense. To be more precise, its full name is “PS5 v2 DualSense Wireless Controller”. Overall, it offers similar features to the one we know, with a notable improvement. It’s about the battery, a sensitive subject for wireless controllers of any brand. Here, it is significantly improved, which should not fail to please as many people as possible who saw it as a problem.

We are told of a battery life of 12 hours. For comparison, the current fully charged PS5 controller can last between 3-6 hours before needing to be plugged in again. Afterwards, it also depends on the game you are playing. In addition, the features list indicates a charging station included in the offer, with the mention ” easy click-in-charging “. This little sentence is difficult to understand at the moment, but it may portend better ergonomics. Either way, it will retail for $89.99, a price similar to the colorless version of the DualSense.

What about the PS5 Pro?

Let’s remember, however, that this is a leak, and that we must therefore take it with a grain of salt. However, we are dealing with fairly solid evidence, so all that remains is to wait for official confirmation from Sony. Where you will have to be patient is for the PS5 Pro. Tom Henderson, a well-informed insider, was the first to mention it. It would be an improved version of the console which should technically be released at the end of 2024. On the menu, there would be some great new features, but will it end up being made official?

According to the rumor spread by Henderson, the firm would rather wait until the third quarter of 2024 to unveil the PS5 Pro. This would be more in line with its announcement history, which may already reassure some. So, if it is really due to be released towards the end of 2024, Sony is not going to present it in January, or even in February. Hopefully we’ll hear more in the coming months, with at least some confirmation of its existence.
