A new Deus Ex game is in development at Eidos Montreal

Even if the closure of Onoma by the Embracer studio does not really lend itself to celebrations, Jason Schreier’s article via Bloomberg also teaches us some rather interesting things for the future of the Eidos Montreal studio. If you’ve been waiting for a new Deus Ex, you can already rejoice.

Two Ex, Fable and a new license

According to the Bloomberg journalist, Eidos Montreal had to lower its ambitions since the studio has reportedly canceled a brand new game largely inspired by Stranger Things with a group of children on bicycles. We also learn thatEidos would collaborate with Xbox Games on several games including the next Fable from Playground Games.

The good news (or the good news) is that the structure would be working on a new license which would have recently taken a new direction. We do not know more for the moment, but the icing on the cake is the almost-confirmation that a new Deus Ex is in development that it will indeed arrive on our consoles and PC. The project would still be in its infancy (implied in the pre-production phase), so just be patient before having the first details on this long-awaited new opus.

Maybe he can revolutionize the cyberpunk genre where CD Pojekt RED failed. Among the former Western studios of Square Enix, we recall that for its part, Crystal Dynamics is working on a new Tomb Raider under Unreal Engine 5.
