France Télévisions has announced the appointment of Erik Berg as director of the news channel of the public service audiovisual group. The journalist will aim to raise the audiences of franceinfo, still fourth and last of the news channels. He was a great reporter for the sports department for “Stade 2” and “Tout le sport”.
A new boss for the news channel. On Monday, through a press release, France Télévisions announced the appointment of Erik Berg as director of franceinfo, channel 27. He succeeds Sophie Guillin. The journalist will take up his post on Monday, October 10. Erik Berg cut his teeth within France Télévisions, in particular within the France 3 network, underlines Puremedia.
Senior reporter and deputy editor at France 3
In 2000, he was a major reporter for the sports department for Stage 2 and All sports. Four years later, he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief at France 3 Côte d’Azur, then in 2010, editor-in-chief at France 3 Languedoc-Roussillon. After a stint in 2011 as head of the “regions” department, in 2016 he took up the position of editor-in-chief of Thalassa. Since December 2020, Erik Berg has been regional director of France 3 Haute-de-France where he had to establish synergies with France Bleu and RTBF.
