Rockstar Games has confirmed for several months the existence of the next GTA 6, but so far, no other information has been provided by the studio. No release window, or even an official name really. What if the big announcement was imminent?
GTA 6 spotted in Australia, release approaching? Attention…
Fans of GTA 6 are on the starting blocks, perhaps even a little too much. The first week of October, the Internet was ablaze following a supposed teasing of the game by Rockstar Games. According to some Internet users, the fact that the studio posted an image of two characters in front of the Vinewood sign, highlighting the letters VI, was a clear sign. For others, it was just a coincidence.
Today, it’s the release date that’s getting people talking again. A few days after this “sign” from Rockstar, some realized that GTA 6 had been registered by the Australian classification body. The entity would thus have assigned the MA 15+ category due to the presence of violence and sex. To understand clearly, the equivalent in our country would be the PEGI 16 which we give to games not recommended for under 16s.
And this is the first suspicious element since GTA 6 will undoubtedly receive a PEGI 18 – R 18+ in Australia. A guess that can be verified with the various GTA 5 files on the classification body’s website. Account X GTANet spotted other errors in entering these classifications, because yes, there are several. One of them is not a request that comes from Rockstar Games, but from a company called RainReach.
So is it fake? Little room for doubt, especially since apparently anyone can submit a request to the classification body. The condition seems rather simple: take out the credit card. Thus, some somewhat prankish Internet users would have paid between 890 and 1210 dollars to submit this GTA 6 request. A relatively steep price to have fun with fans who are very impatient to get their hands on the game after more than 10 years of waiting. For the official release of Grand Theft Auto 6, date at best between April 2024 and March 2025. A window which does not take into account potential delays, which cannot be ruled out despite the optimism of the CEO of Take-Two Interactive on this launch.
A revolutionary online mode?
This is not the first time, nor the last, that GTA 6 will be the subject of crazy rumors. Recently, a gossip circulated about an overpriced game that would be sold for 150 dollars… in a normal edition! Well, don’t worry, it still smells like a huge fake of course. And what about official information? This summer, Rockstar Games announced that Cfx.re, the team responsible for the largest RP platforms (roleplay) as well as mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5, had joined the studio.
Over the past few years, our creative community has found new ways to expand the possibilities of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, including the creation of dedicated RP servers, and we’ve watched it all with excitement. In other words, the possible multi mode of GTA 6 should be much richer and more scalable. But it’s also promising for all the company’s other future games.
