A new endgame feature for New World: Expedition Mutation Factors

Since January 25, New World has seen its new patch 1.3 settle in Aeternum. In addition to fixes, expedition mutation factors are making an appearance.

Mutations change the pet of Expeditions by increasing the power of enemies, which changes the course of the fights. Adventurers will have to readjust their strategy against their enemies. At the same time, this will make it possible to recover new equipment and resources which will increase the level of power.

Each week, the alternation of shipments and transfers, with 10 difficulty levels, will allow you to meet new challenges. It’s up to you to give everything in order to reach the maximum level. Be careful, however, to take stock of the recommended equipment score for each mutant expedition in which you participate, as this will give you information as to the level of the enemies.

The game’s development team has shared a video showing the gameplay of these new expeditions.

To enter a Mutant Expedition, you will need to have a Codex to open the Mutant version of the Expedition. Completing a Normal difficulty Expedition will earn you the Expedition Codex, as well as a Mutant Expedition Chord Orb.

The Expedition menu will allow you to see the type of mutation factor along with the level, recommended gear score, and qualification criteria. You can only craft one orb per weekbut you will be able to buy some via the faction shop.

Thanks to the dark upgrade system, you will be able to increase your gear score from 590 to 625. You can get Dark Shards through Expeditions and opening Gypsum Molds once you hit level 600.

Similarly, more general changes have been made to Expeditions. You can get the full details of these here.
