A new Mafia in development at Hangar 13

Since the release of the last chapter of the trilogy Mafia, Hangar 13 failed to relaunch a major new project. But while Haden Blackman has just jumped ship, also saying goodbye to 2K Games, Kotaku sources seem to have some information on the future of the studio. Hangar 13 would be developing the next chapter of the saga Mafiawith what could be a prequel.

The project would however only be in its infancy, not suggesting an exit for a few years. Unlike previous titles, Unreal Engine 5 would be used as the engine.

With the departure of Blackman, Nick Baynes took over the head of the studio, but also of the project. Being in its infancy, no more information is available about the game.

However, if a new Mafia is indeed in development at Hangar 13, this would allow the studio to get back in the saddle. Since the release of the third opus in 2016, no major title has been added to their list. The various projects in development at home have been aborted over the years. Only remains of their efforts Mafia III and the various game remasters commissioned by 2K Games.
