The French Shadow offer is progressing with a new Shadow Power option.
In May 2022, Shadow unveiled the redesign of its offer since the acquisition of the company by Octave Klaba (OVHCloud). We must now take action on the second stage of the launch: the arrival of a Power option to increase the performance of the PC in the Shadow cloud.
A more powerful Power option
During our meeting with the Shadow teams at Gamescom, the watchword was clear: be transparent about launches so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Those that made customers wait for long months before a delivery. From now on, Shadow wants to communicate more frankly when the company has a certain degree of confidence in its dates.
This is the case of the Power option unveiled in May, of which the firm is ready to talk about the launch date.
As a reminder, this option allows you to obtain the following characteristics for your machine in the cloud:
- AMD EPYC 7543P CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads
- GPUs:
- 3070-class NVIDIA GeForce RTX
- Where ” equivalent professional graphics cards developed by NVIDIA »

You may be wondering about the graphics chip issue, because contrary to what the offer may imply, there are still real differences between an Nvidia chip and a last generation AMD chip. Fortunately, the user will be well informed in full transparency of the configuration that he will obtain if he subscribes to the Power offer. Shadow imagined this offer during the shortage of graphics cards and therefore prefers to ensure deliveries with such or such chips depending on the server.
Launch in phases, starting in October
Shadow’s Power Bundle will be available from October 26, 2022 for 14.99 euros per month. This is an option to be paid for in addition to the basic subscription at 29.99 euros.
Subscribers who have registered as interested in the option will be able to receive an email with a pre-order offer from September 20. This will guarantee access to the option from October 26th. Shadow warns that demand could once again be greater than supply and that the company refuses to create queues: if there is no more Power available, it will be impossible to subscribe to it .
A good plan for loyal customers
Shadow has also prepared a promotional offer for certain customers: a early access at 9.99 euros per month, instead of 14.99 euros. The launch is scheduled for the beginning of October. This reduced price will be maintained thereafter for the customers concerned. This early access to the Power offer will primarily concern customers who had pre-ordered Ultra and Infinite offers in the old system, without ever being delivered. Customers in question should be contacted directly by Shadow.
Shadow opens overseas
The news concerns French customers less, but it is important for the health of the service: Shadow is being exported. The service will be launched on September 15 in Canada and Austria, then before the end of the year in Spain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden.
