Baldur’s Gate 3 benefits from a new update, following the extensive patch which has already brought numerous changes. So, what’s new this time? Fixed several frustrating issues.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has evolved considerably since its final launch, thanks to multiple updates provided by Larian Studios. Even after a recent major update, the studio does not intend to stop there. Larian continues to have big plans for its RPG, as evidenced by this latest patch. The latter brings appreciable adjustments, highlighting the studio’s continued commitment to improving the game.

A nice patch for Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is closely followed by its studio. And the RPG demonstrates it with its latest hotfix 15, a particularly welcome update. This fix specifically targets frequent crashes in certain situations, affecting players on Xbox in particular. With this update, Baldur’s Gate 3 promises to be even more stable, more refined and less prone to bugs. We have drawn up a list of changes to know for you, just to help you find your way around:

Crashes and Blockages:

  • Fixed a potential crash when autosaving after a level change.
  • Fixed a multiplayer crash that could occur for the client when the host loads a save after a Game Over screen.
  • Fixed a crash related to deleting physical objects.
  • Fixed a crash occurring when disarming an NPC twice during combat, causing them to drop two different weapons, incapacitating them and ending the fight without killing them, then removing the incapacitation condition.
  • Fixed an issue preventing a save initiated with a now missing mod from loading.
  • Fixed a crash on Xbox when losing internet connection while changing a lobby name.
  • Fixed a potential crash on Xbox related to verifying Deluxe Edition ownership.
  • Fixed a crash occurring when switching to Honor Mode.
  • Fixed a crash when changing levels.

This also concerns multiplayer

Performance and Code:

  • Fixed potential performance issues at the end of the cutscene where Shadowheart is in the Temple of Shar
  • Fixed a memory issue when closing containers with a controller.
  • Fixed the Low Model Quality feature not always working as expected.
  • Fixed an issue causing some special items, such as the Idol of Silvanus, to enter an incorrect state when moved to a Traveler’s Chest.
  • Reduced memory usage related to animation skinning (a technique used in 3D animation to bring characters or objects to life)

Multiplayer:

  • Fixed Traveler’s Chests sometimes disappearing when switching to Honor Mode in Multiplayer Settings.
  • Fixed an issue in multiplayer where the client would take control of the host’s avatar if the host was controlling a companion and the client joined the game in split-screen.
  • Fixed an issue in multiplayer where a player reconnecting would not correctly recover their characters.
  • Fixed preventing Player 2 from preparing spells if Player 1 moves his focus during a split-screen game.

And to finish…

Progress and Gameplay:

  • Fixed an issue preventing you from talking to NPCs in camp when going there via the Long Rest button.
  • Fixed some incorrect character behavior likely introduced in Patch 4.
  • The quest ‘Deal with the Devil’ now takes into account different outcomes in the Epilogue.
  • Fixed preventing companions from jumping while following the player character.
  • Fixed an issue where completing the tutorial with only Lae’zel alive would prevent the game from being saved in Act I.
  • Fixed Gayle’s dialogue ending abruptly when you asked him what he wanted to show.
  • Fixed player factions sometimes incorrectly becoming hostile towards each other.
  • Fixed the Create or Destroy Water skill

Other Fixes:

  • The Korean language pack is now enabled on Mac.
  • Fixed some weapon textures.
  • Fixed several cases of the so-called Pinocchio glitch, where characters’ noses (and cheeks) become elongated in cutscenes, also losing their eyes, turning the eye sockets into pits of flesh.
  • Fixed equipment tooltips opened via Inventory sometimes randomly closing on controller without player intervention.
