Baldur’s Gate 3 welcomes its second update on consoles and PC. A patch that fixes a few issues and brings a change long requested by players.
Six months after its release, the Baldur’s Gate 3 phenomenon continues. Many people regularly relaunch the acclaimed CRPG to discover new stories, new branches and much more. For its part, Larian Studios continues its efforts to improve the one crowned GOTY 2023 at the Game Awards of the same year. After a first update deployed this month, the equipment continues with the arrival of the seventeenth hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix 17 available
A week later, BG3 hotfix 17 has just been deployed. The latest update corrected many sometimes critical issues, while optimizing game performance or certain aspects of gameplay. An update considered minor by the studio, but quite significant for one of this ilk. The patch available for download since January 15, 2024 will not be as generous. It certainly also tackles various bugs that can block progress, problems that hinder the comfort of the game and much more. Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix 17 will still make a requested change for one of the companions: Gale.
From now on, if the player is not able to offer him a magic shoe every time he is hungry, the mage will temper his ardor and will no longer leave the team like the diva he was. Before, if we weren’t able to equip him with the right artifacts, poor Gale would just think our hero didn’t want to help him and leave. It’s now more likely to stick around if you don’t have anything on hand at any given time. Among the other changes, we will note a fix for visual artifacts that could appear on the PS5 version or an even more compressed size of saves to avoid crashes of all kinds.
A bigger update is coming
For the rest, these are some adjustments for certain fights, such as that of Cazador in Honor mode, fixes for the camera when certain specific spells are cast or even the possibility of recovering thief hooks from the camp or from the inventory of a comrade at any time. This Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix 17 therefore acts more as a small routine update unlike its predecessor. Larian Studios is working in parallel on a major patch whose content is still mysterious. It could nevertheless bring the photo mode promised last year. Knowing the studio, we should also expect other important changes requested by the community.
