The New Year is here and many studios are getting ready to make an announcement. As hallway noise hints at a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 presentation in May, and CyberConnect 2 will announce its next game in February, it’s Devolver Digital’s turn to be ready to draw: a new Serious Sam is on the way and we will know (very) quickly a lot more.

It is on Twitter that Devolver Digital announces the color with a teaser accompanied by a short post: “What if a new Serious Sam game is announced next week and released this month?” “. The message is clear, an announcement is imminent for the franchise, which will make us happy to be back for a new adventure, with a release in the coming weeks.
The teaser accompanying the statement seems to take us to an icy environment where we can see Sam aboard a zodiac. To tell the truth, the teaser is not new since it had been published on December 11 on YouTube, where the community was rather considering a DLC for Serious Sam 4. Logical, since nothing indicated that a new opus was on the way.
Now, it remains to be seen whether this will be a real new episode with a hypothetical Serious Sam 5 or not. This remains unlikely, given the recent release of the fourth installment, so we can imagine a sequel in the form of a standalone or a spin-off as we have already seen in the series. The wait will not be very long since the announcement will be made next week.
