a new special patch deployed which divides many

CD Projekt RED continues to work on small patches for Cyberpunk 2077, and this one corrects a very specific problem, but which indirectly affects all PC players.

To improve the user experience, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive some attention from CD Projekt RED. The patch that interests us here applies to the PC version, and more precisely to a bug concerning a certain margin of players… to the detriment of others.

Cyberpunk 2077 Cyber Hardware Update

Even though CD Projekt RED is now mainly focusing on Cyberpunk 2, the original game is not abandoned. The Polish studio had indeed indicated that other patches could be deployed in the future on Cyberpunk 2077. This is precisely the case here, with a patch intended for the PC version.

This targets Razer mice in particular. When players assigned actions to buttons on the side of their mouse, it could cause a crash. With this fix, this particularly annoying problem should be a thing of the past. This small patch targeting a particular problem, however, was not without influence for all other players.

A little patch with differences… not necessarily positive

CD Projekt RED has indeed reported that this small, very targeted patch could affect mods. And that is unfortunately the case. While it will please Razer mouse users, the rest of the PC community will have to update certain mods that are no longer compatible. This despite the fact that this update does not change the version of the game. Especially since the community would obviously not have waited for a patch to correct the problem on their side in a more “gentle” way.

Until proven otherwise, this type of small patch should be the new norm for Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish studio has clearly shown its desire to move on to the sequel and that we will not have to wait for other major patches for the game. original. After three years of fighting to restore the image of this game apart in more than one way, we can somewhat understand it. Let’s hope that the next opus developed under Unreal Engine 5 will fare better when it is released.
