Yesterday, during a podcast, Peter Dinklage violently criticized the future live adaptation of Snow White. The Disney spokesperson just responded to the comedian, saying they were going to take a different approach to the 1937 classic.
Guest of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast earlier this week, Peter Dinklage castigated the future live adaptation of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs that Disney is preparing.
The Game of Thrones star added that he would be excited if the studio gave the fairy tale “a whacky, cool, or progressive twist“.
And that’s what Disney finally seems to be preparing, if we believe the statement of the studio’s spokesperson who reacted to The Hollywood Reporter’s microphone:
To avoid reinforcing the stereotypes of the original animated film, we’re taking a different approach with these seven characters and consulting with members of the dwarfism community. We can’t wait to tell you more when the film goes into production after a long period of development.
Like the recent live adaptations of Aladdin or Mulan, the studio is therefore calling on consultants for its remake of the 1937 classic. Disney has thus reimagined all the characters in the film.
