A Parisian shopping center will accept payments in cryptocurrencies

Shopping and paying for purchases in cryptocurrencies will be possible from June 8 in the Beaugrenelle shopping center in Paris. This is a first in France, where nearly one in 10 French people has already invested in cryptocurrencies.

For this initiative to see the light of day, the Beaugrenelle shopping center relied on the French application Lyzi. It is on the latter that customers will have to buy a gift card with their cryptocurrencies, which will then allow them to pay in the 110 shops of the mall using the QR code generated by the application. Twenty-one cryptocurrencies will be usable in this context, such as bitcoin and ether. But to pay directly with your cryptocurrencies, without an intermediary ensuring the conversion into euros, you will still have to wait.
