A Plague Tale: Asobo’s video game soon to be adapted into series by a French team

The list of games that must be adapted into a series or a film is starting to be as long as your arm, so much so that some projects are slow to materialize or even end up in oblivion. This is not what we want from the project announced this week: a serial transformation ofA Plague Talethe successful young franchise from BordeauxAsobo Studio.

As we wait to get our hands on A Plague Tale: RequiemFabrice Renault, Director of Merlin Productionsrevealed in the latest issue of the magazine Full screen that he was planning on an episodic adaptationto a string or a SVOD still unknown. The editor Focus will keep an eye on the project via his cap as co-producer, and Mathieu Turi has already been named as screenwriter and director. He has already signed 2 genre feature films, Hostile and Meanderbut also worked as an assistant director on Inglorious Basterd, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and many others.

“It is fundamental for me that our productions reflect French talents and know-how. A Plague Tale is a game designed in Bordeaux by Asobo that we produce with a company based in Paris; its creators had the opportunity to sell the adaptation in the United States, but they preferred to work with French people: I want to give them that confidence,” comments Fabrice Renault, director of Merlin Productions.

Will Olivier Derivière be back to music? Who to embody Amicia and his younger brother Hugo, the 2 young heroes of this adventure against a backdrop of black plague and cursed powers? These questions do not yet have an answer and it will certainly be necessary to be patient to have them. Until then, A Plague Tale: Innocence is available from €14.99 on Amazon.co.uk.
