Already presented last year, A Plague Tale: Requiem has recently been talked about again when a new gameplay video was shared during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 conference.
Thanks to this sequence, we can see that the continuation of the adventures of Hugo and Amicia will take place in a whole new environment. Indeed, for this second opus, the developers at Asobo have chosen the south of France as a new setting. Moreover, on this subject and on the official site, the lead writer of the title, Sébastien Renard, expressed himself:
[…] Constantly renewing the context in a game is a real challenge, it has to remain consistent with the story, the emotions we want to convey, but also consider what these places can bring in terms of gameplay, such as the different fights or the puzzles that could plausibly be found in such environments […]
Thus, via this opus, players will be able to discover new places, such as market places, large ports or even a dyer’s workshop. On the gameplay side, we should find the mechanics already present in A Plague Tale: Innocence, but we can still expect some surprises. Besides, A Plague Tale: Requiem should be more violent and terrifying than its elder, as evidenced by the video available below.
As a reminder, A Plague Tale: Requiem is due to arrive this year on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. From its official launch, the title will be available in the Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, Asobo Studio has not shared a specific release date for this second installment.
