A Plague Tale Requiem will be playable in June, but on one condition

Good news for those who are waiting for A Plague Tale Requiem. The game will benefit from a demo in June, but we will have to be reactive.

A Plague Tale Requiem will be approached this summer. As one of the most anticipated games of the year, the French production gave little news. This should change during the Summer Game Fest festivities, where French production will be playable. But there is one condition.

The one that was still called A Plague Tale 2 a few months ago will be entitled to a 40-minute demo in June. However, unlike the usual trial versions, not everyone will be among the lucky ones. Asobo Studio’s game will indeed be part of the second edition of the Tribeca Games Festival. A fully digital event integrated into the Summer Game Fest to be held from June 11 to 19.

Like last year, places will be few but free. If the platforms have not yet been specified, we imagine that the festival will continue its momentum and that the demo of A Plague Tale Requiem will only be playable on PC and most certainly via Parsec. In any case, you will absolutely need an Xbox controller to hope to play it. More details are expected but one thing is certain we will have to act quickly. As for a classic event, players will have to reserve their ticket, which is completely free. The opening of tickets will take place on May 2 at a time not yet revealed. To try to scratch your place, this is where it happens.

Pretty indie games on the program of the Tribeca Games Festival

If A Plague Tale Requiem is clearly the headliner of this Tribeca Games Festival, it will not be the only playable game. A handful of independent titles will also have the right to their demos. All will be presented during an online showcase to be held on June 10.

American Arcadia

New game from the developers of Call of The Sea, American Arcadia will offer players an escape from a 70s reality show. It will be possible to embody two characters with different points of view and gameplay. The first, Trevor Hill, is an actor despite in this life-size show. It will have to be controlled in a 2.5D environment close to platform games. The second is none other than the voice guiding it and which will offer gameplay in FPS view and in 3D environments.

As Dusk Falls

As Dusk Falls is an original interactive drama planned exclusively for the Xbox Series X console. The first project from the INTERIOR/NIGHT studio, founded by Caroline Marchal, alumnus of Quantic Dream, the game tells the story of two families whose trajectories will cross during thirty years in a small town in Arizona. The choices made by the players will have an impact on all the characters.

Cuphead: Delicious Last Course

Postponed many times, Cuphead: Delicious Last Course will also be approached during a 30-minute demo. Still taking on the 1930s cartoon look that made the original game so popular, the DLC will feature a whole host of new bosses and a new recruit: Ms. Chalise. Unique charms, weapons, and abilities can also be tried out.

immortality

The latest production from Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies), Immortality is a new FMV game revolving around Marissa Marcein, an actress whose movies have never been released. She is now missing and the players will obviously have to investigate. The title will be 10 times more ambitious than Telling Lies, and this translates into an audience of screenwriters who have worked on Mr Robot, Le Jeu de la dame or even Sailor and Lula.3

Oxenfree II

It is arguably one of the most anticipated indie games of this year. Like A Plague Tale Requiem, Oxenfree 2 will be entitled to a much shorter demo (25 minutes). While taking on the art direction of its predecessor, the game tells a new story set five years after the events of the first installment. We will follow a certain Riley, an environmental researcher back in her hometown to investigate a strange radio frequency.

The Cub

Announced at the last Future Games Show, The Cub stands out for the meeting of two different universes: The Jungle Book and Armageddon. Players will take on the role of a young boy traveling the Earth, swept away by an ecological disaster as the ultra-rich fled to Mars. It is themselves who will launch an expedition to the fallen planet in search of the child, who has developed an immunity.

Thirty Suitors

With its feminine Scott Pilgrim-like tunes, Thirsty Suitors is based on a rather original pitch: “ Fight your exes, disappoint your parents and get to know each other “. Focused on narrative, the second game from the creators of Falcon Age will above all be a story articulated around culture, self-expression and family pressures. Question gameplay, it will be necessary to beat punks with roulette, exes a little too hung and suitors too addicted. Thirsty Suitors will feature a turn-based combat system with a small RPG layer based on special abilities and upgrades.

Venba

Last on the list, Venba is a narrative cooking game. The players embody an Indian mother who immigrated to Canada with her family in the 80s. The game aims to tell a story around food. It will therefore be a question of cooking several traditional dishes and finding lost recipes while participating in various conversations.
