We have here perhaps one of the best customers to assemble a machine gaming without breaking too much.
In recent weeks, there has been much more talk about Ryzen from AMD than about the coming of the next Raptor Lake from Intel. A leak around the Core i5-13500 allows them to remember our good memories.
As much threads than a Core i7-12700
The leak comes from a certain 歪嘴多迪, used to the Bilibili platform, who was able to recover two engineering samples of the Core i5-13500 and Core i5-13400 whose release is not scheduled before next January.
For now, 歪嘴多迪 is focusing on the Core i5-13500 which has 6 efficient cores and 8 efficient cores for a total of 14 cores/20 threads. A set to which is associated 11.5 MB of L2 cache and 24 MB of L3 cache.
On the frequency side, it is a question of reaching a maximum of 4.4 GHz in boost on all the high-performance cores and 4.9 GHz on only one while, for the efficient cores, we are talking about 3.3 GHz / 3 .4GHz.
+60% performance compared to Core i5-12500
For his test, the user installed the Core i5-13500 on a B660 chipset-based motherboard with DDR4-3600 which only ran in DDR4-3200 due to a BIOS limitation. Finally, the TDP oscillated between 65 and 125 Watts.
This will have to be checked with the CPU in our hands, but this Core i5-13500 seems to be a very efficient “budget” processor. Thus, compared to a Core i5-12500, we can expect gains multithreaded 68% on CPU-Z and 60% on Cinebench R23. In singlethread it is logically less striking: respectively +10% and +6% on the same software.
On the temperature side, there are peaks between 69 and 72°C. The exact reference of the cooler used is not indicated, but it is a double-tower model with a single fan. On Furmark’s CPU stress test, it was a question of a maximum consumption of 165 Watts.
The release of this Core i5-13500 should take place on January 3rd and given the possibility of mounting it on an LGA1700 motherboard with DDR4, we can imagine that it is promised a bright future on configurations gaming Low price.
