A quack to start! The debate between the two rounds marked by an unusual false start by Marine Le Pen

On Wednesday April 20, 2022, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen found themselves face to face during the debate between the two rounds. Believing that the latter had begun, the candidate of the National Rally began her speech in full credits.

The French have made their choice! Favorites in the polls, it was Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen who won the first round of the presidential election. A few days before the second round, the two candidates found themselves face to face during the debate between the two rounds, presented by Gilles Bouleau and Léa Salamé. In order to start the confrontation, the journalist said: “Good evening and welcome everyone to this great debate in the second round of the presidential election, a much-awaited moment in the democratic life of our country.“For his part, Gilles Bouleau exclaimed:”You have two and a half hours this evening to present your project, your vision of France, what separates you, but also your personality.

While Léa Salamé said that the first subject would be purchasing power and that Marine Le Pen had been drawn by lot to speak first, the latter began her speech in full credits. A bit embarrassed, Gilles Bouleau exclaimed: “Marine Le Pen, dare I, when the debate has barely begun, interrupt you? Just to remind you that we wanted to ask each other the following question: how would you be a better president than your opponent Emmanuel Macron?“Laughing, the candidate of the National Rally slipped:”I had started before you even asked the question.“In order to reassure her, Léa Salamé declared:”You started on the music, you can resume, we haven’t taken away the seconds.

Marine Le Pen: “France’s greatest asset is its people”

To begin, the presidential candidate exclaimed: “The greatest asset of France is its people (…) I will be the president of the regalian, of the democratic renaissance. I will also be the president of the daily. I will be the president of harmony restored between all French people, of justice, of national fraternity, of civil peace.“Quickly, Marine Le Pen attacked Emmanuel Macron on purchasing power.”I’ve only seen French people tell me that they can’t do it anymore, that they can’t make ends meet anymore“, she said while the President of the Republic reproached him for having voted against the energy shield.
