SRF Sport users liked Switzerland’s performance at the European Championship opener against Hungary.

Switzerland made a perfect start to EURO 2024 in Germany on Saturday. They celebrated a well-deserved 3-1 victory against Hungary and were particularly convincing in the first half.

The users of SRF Sport also saw it that way. They gave the Swiss starting eleven players 4 or 4.5 out of 5 possible stars. With one exception: Silvan Widmer, who received a warning early on, received “only” 3.5 stars.

Akanji, Xhaka, Aebischer and Duah top

Defence leader Manuel Akanji, midfield conductor Granit Xhaka and attackers Michel Aebischer (goal and assist) and Kwadwo Duah (goal) performed best. They all received 4.5 stars from the almost 13,000 users who took part in the rating. Substitute Breel Embolo, who scored the 3-1 goal, was rated 4 stars.
