A Razer headset saves a gamer’s life!

A few days ago, an exceptional event took place in the United States. A player was saved… by his helmet. This is not an endorsement of any particular product, but a fact: a Razer headset saved a life. Let’s take a look back together at the absolute fluke of the Reddit user called Enough_Dance_956.

A stray bullet

It’s April 1, 2022 and despite the date, it’s not April Fool’s Day. Enough_Dance_956 is quietly playing, in front of his computer, when suddenly, a knock echoes on his head. He soon realizes that a stray bullet has just ricocheted off the top of his helmet, thus saving his life. Indeed, the metal bar located inside the Razer headset deflected the bullet, which then left to lodge in the wall.

The user revealed some pictures of the incident on his Reddit account.

Millennium

Still in shock when posting his story on the networks, Enough_Dance_956 considered himself very lucky: “If the helmet wasn’t of good quality, I would have died at the age of 18. I can’t even imagine all the pain that my family and friends would have endured”. He therefore then called the police, who recovered the bullet and are currently in the midst of an investigation.

Unfortunately, the user revealed that he lives in Torrance, South Los Angeles, which is an area very affected by this kind of incident, where armed clashes are quite common. Although he says he has “a big garden” and that the ball had to come from quite a distance, it could still have been fatal for the young player.

Razer’s response

Enough_Dance_956 was very grateful to the Razer brand, originators of the savior headphones, and wished to thank them directly. “I’m trying to reach someone at Razer to thank them with all my heart”, he said. The brand’s moderators replied to him and their conversation then continued in a private message.

But surprise for the young player, it is the CEO of Razer himself, Min Liang Tanwho came to hear from him by writing under the post: “Wow that’s crazy. I’m glad you’re okay”.

Yesterday, the Reddit user said he was in discussion with Razer and they were going to send him brand new helmetthe previous one being unusable.

Fake news?

Of course, the user who posted his unfortunate adventure on April 1st, many thought it was a joke. But several days later, Enough_Dance_956 continues to claim that his story is indeed true and that the fact that it happened on April 1st is only a coincidence. It is true that, if this was an April Fool’s joke, the Reddit user would surely have revealed it a few days later and would not have made the joke last until today.

Many other users of the social network still continue to accuse him of lyingin order to get a new helmet.

We know it, the internet is cruel and some even went so far as to make serious accusations and/or post more than insulting messages under Enough_Dance_956’s Reddit post to which the young player responded one by one, defending his story body and soul. The post was then locked, so it is impossible to comment on it.

A great lesson

Finally, it’s a great lesson that the young Reddit user teaches us, writing this on the network: “Thank you all. I showed the reactions to my family and we are happy that people are reassured that I am fine. There are a lot of replies to the post and I cannot answer all of them. Thank you very much. […] Lots of love to you, be safe and respect your parents, tell them you love them every day, you don’t know when it’s time to go”.
