Beijing Express had just started recording Season 14 in Turkey, when a dramatic accident occurred. Filming has been suspended.
Beijing Express season 14 has just come to a halt. A terrible road accident did indeed occur in Turkey during filming last week, reports Leisure TV. An 82-year-old motorist was brutally struck by two vehicles participating in the M6 show, after losing control of his own car. In one of the vehicles were the driver, a cameraman and two candidates, in the other, a driver and two members of the production, can we read on the site of Leisure TV. According to the police report, the broadcast crews are not responsible. The victim was rushed to hospital and succumbed to her injuries. Other members of Beijing Express were injured and one of the teams of candidates was repatriated to France, thus leaving the competition. Leisure TV specifies that psychological support was offered to them by the production of the game. This new season had already been stopped, due to a health crisis. Started in South Africa, it then resumed in Turkey.
Other television dramas
The show had already experienced traffic accidents. In 2012, the presenter, Stéphane Rotenberg, was violently hit on a road in the Philippines. He was then driving a sidecar. Seriously injured in the head, he was however able to resume filming. Beijing Express is not the only reality show to have been peppered with drama. During the filming in Argentina of Dropped, in 2015, the collision of two helicopters had left ten dead. Among them, three athletes who participated in the program: boxer Alexis Vastine, famous sailor Florence Arthaud and Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat.
