A scandal recently broke out in the town of Lempdes, in Puy-de-Dôme. On Friday, November 18, 2022, half-board students unfortunately had bad surprises on their plate. Several pupils of the establishment thus reported to the management of the establishment the presence of foreign bodies in the dishes served in the canteen. The same day, high school students found maggots in pasta, flies in rice and even the end of a syringe stuck in meat.
The students did not hesitate to draw their smartphone and take supporting photos. The school administration also acknowledged the facts. The establishment turned to its suppliers to alert them to these astounding discoveries. The suppliers admitted their fault. The syringe would come from an injection made on the animal and part of which would have remained in a muscle without anyone noticing., and this, until it arrives on the plate. On the other hand, they denied being involved with regard to the presence of the flies. The principal later admitted that the school was invaded. “Due to the cold, flies have entered the establishment and some have slipped into the rice salads”, indicated the principal.

Finally, the discovery of the maggot remains a mystery. The supplier has so far not responded to calls from the school’s management on this subject. Very worried after this scandal, the parents made their dissatisfaction known to the school. “No student was poisoned. Everything has been implemented. What happened is quite exceptional. Besides, the three events have no connection between them, it’s quite incredible that it happens on the same day. The canteen, which has recently been renovated, does not present any risk, but we will be more vigilant from now on”, tried to reassure the principal. The Regional Council, for its part, has also been informed of the situation and promises that the school will take all necessary measures.
