You probably don’t know Yadea and yet… the Chinese brand established in 2001 is currently the largest manufacturer (and seller) of electric two wheels in the world. A title that Yadea has held for almost six years and which can be explained by its ability to offer innovative vehicles, with sophisticated designs, efficient and above all, affordable. After conquering the electric scooter market, the manufacturer decided to tackle a new niche: that of electric scooters.
And the least we can say is that the result is convincing. With the Elite Prime A high (or even very high) range model which combines safety and power with a particularly comfortable driving experience.
Smooth and pleasant driving in all circumstances
When using any vehicle for everyday travel, driving feel and comfort are essential. Yadea understood that well. It’s simple, the Elite Prime X1 offers one of the best urban navigation experiences available. To achieve this, the manufacturer made several drastic design decisions, which distanced its creation from its competitors.
For starters, the Elite Prime X1 is massive. At 1.23 m long, 58 cm wide and a handlebar that peaks at 1.34 m, it is impressive. These dimensions can be explained by Yadea’s desire to offer users a comfortable platform, whose height (15.5 cm from the ground nonetheless) allows a better perception of its immediate environment and therefore, of the obstacles present in the surrounding area.
Another important choice: suspensions. For this Elite Prime X1, Yadea opted for full suspension. At the front as at the rear, we can thus discover a unilateral system (attached on one side only) which uses a high-strength polymer material. Enough to absorb most shocks and vibrations while making it easier to overcome obstacles, such as sidewalks or unevenness in the road for example.
To add to the comfort, and ensure smooth driving smooth As much as possible, the manufacturer installed 10-inch “tubeless” tires. They also benefit from a special gel-based treatment which allows them to repair themselves in the event of perforation or snags. Enough to ensure better stability and improve user safety. A central concern for Yadea.
Safety as a watchword
For Yadea, the safety of its users is a priority, and this Elite Prime X1 is the perfect illustration of this. In addition to tires designed to prevent punctures and bursting, the manufacturer has equipped its scooter with several very useful features to protect the driver and limit dangers.
This starts with an efficient braking system. And on this level, Yadea did not go with the back of the spoon since we find here a triple system which is based on a drum brake, a disc brake and an electronic brake (linked to the recovery system of the kinetic energy). An effective system that reduces the braking distance and minimizes the risk of deviation.
Yadea also pulled out all the stops on the signaling part. In addition to a well-stocked array of lighting (brake light and reflector at the rear, powerful headlight at the front), this scooter has turn signals. An addition rare enough on a vehicle of this type to be highlighted.
Last precaution taken by Yadea: protection against tipping. Using a gyroscope, the Elite Prime X1 can detect its position relative to the ground. If the inclination exceeds 45 degrees, the scooter automatically cuts power to the motor so that it stops as quickly as possible. A good way to avoid additional damage in the event of a fall.
Power and autonomy: a scooter that has it under the hood
Pleasant to ride, comfortable and secure, the Yadea Elite Prime does not forget to be powerful. Propulsion is provided by a 1,500 W brushless motor with a maximum torque of 40 Nm. Enough to give it acceleration from 0 to 25 km/h in just a second, and allow it to climb steep slopes without worry. (up to 30% incline).
The Elite Prime X1 has four operating modes, adjustable directly from the handlebars:
- Pedestrian: limited to 6 km/h, it allows the scooter to operate when walking alongside it;
- Drive: a mode limited to 15 km/h;
- Sport : a mode limited to 25 km/h, the maximum limit authorized in France for this type of vehicle;
- Extreme : an “unbridled” mode which is unlocked via the application after having covered one kilometer. It has better acceleration and requires good control of the vehicle.
To power its scooters and scooters, Yadea uses a particularly efficient in-house battery. In this case, the brand announces a range of 65 km with a fully charged battery. Enough to easily cover daily journeys when you live in the city. As for charging, allow less than 10 hours to fill your battery to 100%.
