A sequel for Champion? Broadcast in the first part of the evening this Monday, September 5, the TV movie putting Kendji in the spotlight and the fight against illiteracy seduced. But what will it really be?

Champion will he be entitled to a second part? The question is necessarily on everyone’s lips since Monday evening and the broadcast of the TV movie on the first channel. And given the comments, each more positive than the other observed on social networks at the end, the production could quite consider it… But the warm welcome of the viewers does not bode well for a sequel. Indeed, according to its director Mona Achache (bankable, HPI…), nothing is planned for the moment. “There will be no sequel to Champion. What is important is the end point of this film : it is never too late to get there. All possibilities are open to him” she explained (Entertainment TV), echoing the major subject that inspired this TV movie: illiteracy.

Indeed, in Champion, Kendji plays Zack, who decides to learn to read and write to start a career as a professional boxing trainer. So no more building wooden cabins in the trees, and head to the learning center! The end is happy, Zack manages to realize his dream. This is also confirmed by the interpreter of Tiagoalso believing that there is no follow-up to be given: “It’s like winning a fight at the end. That’s also why the TV movie is called Champion”. The producer of the TV movie Fabienne Arbelot does not contradict them. “The fact of assuming this shame and becoming himself, of finding freedom by learning to read and write allows him to make a romantic and professional choice, and to become an adult. It is also the story of a boy who begins to choose his life“ she added.

Kendji prioritizes her musical career

Although he admits to having been disturbed by the shooting of intimate scenes, Kendji very much enjoyed participating in Champion and would not turn down other roles in the future. But, for the moment, he is concentrating on his musical career sincehe is about to release his fifth album by the end of the year. The performer did not write his first extract, it was Renaud Rebillaud (Amel Bent, Vitaa…) and Juliette Armanet whom he trusted to put to music the love of a father for his daughter. Kendji’s new single, freshly sent to the radios, is called Evathe first name he gave to his first child born in January 2021.

Other talents will be present on this new album entitled The school of life, including Soprano, Naps and Soolking and Florent Pagny, with whom he recorded a duet. No doubt Kendji will have the opportunity to talk about it again on TF1, he who is currently a coach in the new season of The Voice Kids broadcast every Saturday evening. A rhythmic comeback!
